Currency |
Czech crowns (CZK, Kč) are the official currency in the Czech Republic.
One crown is divided into 100 hellers, but today only 50-heller coins are used, and
retailers round the total sum of your purchase to the nearest 50 hellers.
Other coins in circulation come in values of CZK 1, 2, 5, 10, 20, and you can also receive a CZK 50 coin.
Bank notes come in values of CZK 50, 100, 200, 500, 1,000, 2,000 and 5,000.
Exchange of foreign currency is available at Prague international Airport and at most hotels,
banks and exchange offices throughout the city. International credit cards are accepted for payments in hotels,
restaurants and shops. Payment in cash in EURO is also available in some restaurants and shops.
Approx conversion rates:
1 CZK= 0.036 EURO - 10 Euro = 276 CZK
1 CZK= 0.050 USD - 10 USD = 198 CZK
1 CZK= 0.025 GBP - 10 GBP = 396 CZK
